Estes Builders Wins 2007 National Gold Award For Quality!
Estes Builders of Sequim Washington received the 2007 National Housing Quality (NHQ) Gold Award. The NHQ Award represents the housing industry’s highest recognition for quality achievement and excellent business practices.
By virtue of the award, Estes Builders is the cover story of Professional Builder magazine. The magazine highlighted Estes Builder’s quality management practices for the benefit of the entire housing industry. Professional Builder editorial director Paul Deffenbaugh added, “The NHQ award is the most challenging award in the homebuilding industry. The entire team of Estes Builders is to be commended for reaching the highest levels of excellence.
The NHQ Awards, patterned after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, are open to all U.S. residential construction companies. Entries are judged by panels of experts who evaluate the role that customer-focused quality plays in the builder’s construction, business management, sales, design, and warranty service. NAHB Research Center president Michael Luzier said, “The NHQ award brings instant credibility to the winners due to the rigorous judging process implemented by NAHB and Professional Builder magazine. We are proud to recognize Estes Builders for its National Housing Quality Gold Award win. Estes Builders has continually displayed an exceptional dedication to quality throughout its business practices."
“I am continually amazed at our staffs’ relentless focus on customer driven quality practices. As a Gold Award winner we are honored to be included among the very best companies in the nation. That speaks volumes about the caliber of people we have here.” said Kevin Estes, President and founder of Estes Builders. Estes Builders continues to demonstrate a commitment to quality assurance and customer satisfaction. Estes Builders was named a winner of the NHQ Silver award in 2005 and remains the first and only company based in the Pacific Northwest to win the coveted award.
"It is really not about the award, it’s about being the best homebuilder we can be. As a small business we don’t have a board of directors evaluating our business practices, we have utilized the National Housing Quality Award for that purpose.” said Kevin Estes. “Going forward we now have a great network of past award winners we can collaborate with for future improvement opportunities” he added.
